role purpose:

Responsible for developing and executing the global marketing strategy and plans for the Maritime Performance Services Business (MPS), across the Professional Services, Fleet Management and Fleet Optimisation product portfolios supporting the drive for business growth.

Working with the service line commercial, product management and central marketing teams to ensure the successful execution of these plans in focused key market areas to ensure we deliver our growth and the ambition to be a trusted advisor that improves the safety, sustainability and efficiency of our customers’ businesses.

This role will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and will interface with the Head of Marketing M&O and MPS leadership teams.  This role will be fully supported by a matrix team across Brand, Insight and CX.

 

key responsbilities

 

Build and execute the MPS Marketing strategy and plan that aligns with the new LR growth strategy, CMO Marketing strategy and commercial goals. Ensure objectives, messaging and outputs meet the core strategy.

Build and execute marketing activity that drives leads and builds client retention and growth. Partner with sales to ensure that the quality and quantity of leads is achieved to deliver business goals.  

Develop, launch and grow the products and services portfolio across the maritime value cycle and create the necessary value propositions across the targeted stakeholders that will deliver the commercial goals of the MPS service line.

Ensure market, competitor and client insight teams support and enhance our commercial activity.

Build value relationships with all sales responsible stakeholders to deliver and realise market growth plans

Collaborate and input across the Customer Experience, Client Insight and Brand/Communication teams to ensure client campaign activity is delivering effective and impactful results

Lead, manage and develop team members to build capacity and capability through recruitment, performance management, talent/succession planning, training and development to build and sustain a high-performance culture.  Drive and encourage direct reports to do the same with their teams.

Develop new client and stakeholder value propositions that ensure we have a competitively differentiated position aligned to our growth ambition

Develop the client lifecycle to identify the key interaction points from prospect to win back.

Work with the Head of Marketing M&O to develop an area marketing strategy through the Head of Area Marketing

As a member of the CMO marketing leadership team contribute to wider LR marketing strategy plans.  Collaborate and regularly interact with Head of Marketing M&O to ensure seamless integrated LR approach to market

 

Technial / Skill requirements

Proven ability to drive measurable business growth evidenced by leads, customer base growth, increase in customer value, product penetration and revenue.

Previous experience of analysing a marketplace and formulating strategies, portfolio management and design, execution of marketing activities with a strong “MarTech” and digital content.

Understanding of market and client behaviours, and factors that affect them including; cultural awareness, market context, organisational structure, supply chain partners and policies.

Demonstrable ability to think strategically and operate within a broad context

Ability and proven track record to build sustainable, strategic, prospect/customer focused commercial relationships and alliances and communicate engage and influence with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organisation. 

Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution and work effectively within a matrix organisation.

Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Result oriented, assertive, flexible and enthusiastic team player with a “can do” attitude.

Demonstrable experience of people management and leadership skills with significant experience of successfully implementing sound people management practices (including recruitment, employee engagement, development and retention) to establish a high performance and client focused organisation. 

Has pre-existing connections into the client or the clients support/industry networks with the ability to successfully engage and communicate with senior executives and stakeholders

Good team player with the skills to work effectively in a global environment with colleagues of different cultures
