As a Lead Technical Specialist, you will support the In-service activities in our Fleet Services Department across the full range of ship types/assets. You will contribute day-to-day specialist knowledge within the discipline which provide commercially focussed support to internal and external clients. You will determine solutions for problems, where the parameters are not well defined and where previous experience does not provide any precedent. Auditing and verification of compliance of surveys carried out being in accordance with regulations and rules. On occasion projects will be required to be undertaken associated with Fleet In-service activities.  

 

You will:

  • Provide specialist support / advice within a discipline to internal / external clients.
  • Audit and endorse survey reports issued globally, and ensure corrective action implemented at the corporate level as applicable.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
  • Mentor / coach other colleagues, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • Make recommendations based on internal / external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
  • Manage projects within a discipline and ensure they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures and budgetary / contractual requirements.
  • Carry out projects to develop Rules, formats for investigations / assessments and / or processes / procedures to define / improve commercial service delivery within their discipline / area to contribute to improving Lloyd’s Register’s competitive position and the development of key selling point capabilities.
  • Produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other colleague’s work as appropriate.
  • Discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client up to senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
