Roles Purpose:
As part of a dedicated team, you will provide a high level of technical specialist support as part of the M&O Systems Support Team to meet the needs of the business
To support our local and global stakeholders answering a wide range of technical queries and applying solutions related to problems with LR business support systems
Key Responsibilities:
To provide technical specialist support/advice on behalf of the MOSS team to internal and external users globally, which will include LR surveyors and specialists.
To run queries in the database to solve problems arising in the database
Investigate issues raised to identify the root cause and apply a fix or escalate to the appropriate team. Apply fixes to issues that can only be carried out by LR MOSS with super user access.
To discuss/present basic reports through the Technical Performance Report (Circulars) to support a technical audience and be able to suggest alternative solutions to satisfy technical standards as necessary
To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness
To coach other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards
To undertake any additional tasks as may be requested by the Marine and Offshore System Support Team Leader
To manage the M&O Systems Support/Class Direct mailbox and deal with queries from internal and external users. Respond to queries in a timely manner, and liaise with application developers as required to resolve issues as quickly as possible
Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role and an understanding of marine classification, technical performance, and the fleet quality management process
- Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and work unsupervised under pressure in a busy environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Proficient in SQL
