Naval Architect – Lloyds Register’s Ship Emergency Response Service

An exciting opportunity exists to join a flexible, dynamic and motivated team within Lloyd’s Register’s Ship Emergency Response Service (SERS), the pioneering service, which was the first of its kind and has been in operation for more than 30 years, that provides round the clock access to technical advice for the maritime community in the event that of a shipboard emergency such as flooding, grounding, explosion or a loss in stability, etc.  

 

As a Naval Architect with SERS you will have responsibilities for maintaining and developing the departments systems and emergency response tools and capabilities and assisting in maintaining the current state of the department while shaping its future with the development and implementation of innovative and creative solutions to common response issues. You will also be expected to assist in developing internal and external training, undertaking consultancy projects for clients as well as creating new and maintaining existing SERS computational models which form the foundation of SERS simulations and technical advice during incident responses.

 

The successful candidate will also be trained to become a full member of the on-call emergency team.
