A unique role providing nuclear related design engineering expertise, ideally gained within a submarine context, to LR’s Marine & Offshore technical and commercial teams in support of the safe introduction of nuclear technology onboard ships, offshore installations and submarines.
You will
- Provide nuclear engineering expertise to LR’s technical and commercial teams in the development, delivery and growth of both nuclear technology related product and services.
- Provide nuclear engineering input to LR’s technology development plan and roadmap to support the development of the enabling technology required for the safe deployment of nuclear technologies withing the industry.
- Disseminate nuclear engineering knowledge and experience internally through training, presentation, guidance, advice etc. to support the development of nuclear engineering capabilities within LR and support the delivery of related products and services by LR.
- Communicate nuclear engineering knowledge and experience externally through client meetings, workshops, seminars, webinars etc. to support the development of nuclear engineering and submarine engineering awareness within the industry and support the delivery of related products and services by LR.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of nuclear engineering related developments across the industry and beyond.
- Provide nuclear engineering representation to industry bodies, industry associations and industry working groups on behalf of LR including regulatory development, standards development, technology development etc.
- Become the internal and external point of contact for nuclear engineering safety within LR.
To be considered
- Design engineering knowledge and experience of nuclear power generation in either a nuclear power generation system or nuclear power generation system integration capacity ideally within a submarine related environment.
- Knowledge of marine engineering and/or offshore engineering a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of safety engineering and assessment an advantage.
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution.
