Role Purpose:

To generate computer models of ships and offshore units using Seasafe software, including managing allocated projects from start-up to completion.

Provide support to users (both internal and external to LR) of SEASAFE-Onboard and SEASAFE Professional.

Attend on-board vessels to commission SEASAFE-Onboard software and hardware and assist with/deliver software training.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver assigned projects, including the preparation of vessel models to IACS/Seasafe standards for loading instruments, ensuring all associated plans and models are archived and kept up-to-date.
  • Request documentation/data/information from internal and external clients in accordance with Seasafe business requirements, processes and agreed deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Class and the client to achieve approval of the SEASAFE-Onboard loading instrument.
  • Attend on-board vessels to commission SEASAFE-Onboard software and hardware (with the assistance of Commissioning Specialist where required) and assist with/deliver software training.
  • Perform QA checks on models prepared by other modellers (internal/external).
  • Provide technical support to SEASAFE Onboard and SEASAFE Professional clients as required.
  • Communicate client feedback to Product and Service Delivery Team Lead and assist in development and delivery of business/commercial products and services accordingly.
  • Identify and propose changes to systems, processes and procedures to improve the efficiency of Seasafe products and Services. 
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

 

Technical/Professional Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd's Register within the field of Naval Architecture.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
  • Awareness of project management techniques.
  • Experience in practical Naval Architecture (Stability and Strength) and knowledge of ship operations.
  • Experience in computer ship modelling techniques.
