Technical Assistant (Ship Emergency Response Service)

Hybrid Working – Southampton (UK)- permanent role

Role Summary

As part of your role, you will support the delivery of a professional and responsive service to internal and external clients.

 

About the team:

The role on offer sits within the Ship Emergency Response Service which helps our clients make decisions when emergencies occur with one of their ships.  Our time is dedicated to preparing high quality resources and then actually assisting our clients in trouble. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process data entry into business systems and tools and be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of files ensuring that all the data has been validated.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to receive their timely input and follow up as necessary towards having the agreed accurate deliverable timely
  • Identify and refer potential Issues regarding data entry by providing solutions and striving for continuous process improvement.
  • Be able to prioritise, plan and deal with complex queries and proactively resolving service issues within agreed deadlines/targets regarding the Ship Emergency Response Service.
  • Provide support to other team members, departments, and offices, as  required for Ship Emergency Response Service based quires.
  • Actively contribute to Team meetings and client service initiatives preparing input based on validated data.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as required upon request.

 

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Previous administrator experience working in a technical services environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English with ability to use effectively professional terminology.
  • High level of numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Drive for results, solution focused thinking and willingness to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs.
  • Ability to prioritise and work on multiple tasks and complex issues whilst adhering to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy 
  • Ability to work as part of a team to contribute to departmental/business objectives.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office tools.

 

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
  • Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.
