About TID

The Technical Investigation Department provides world-class failure investigation services to global clients by carrying out engineering assessment and evaluation of systems and component failures to help ship owners and operators minimise business downtime. Using core engineering skills to identify and understand the root causes of failure, we provide customised solutions to allow recovery back to operation as part of a rapid response service. A typical example would be an investigation into the failure of a ships propulsion shaft stern tube bearing and subsequent rectification via analyses of the alignment condition to allow the vessel to enter back into service.
