The role: 


A frontline ambassador for Lloyd’s Register, our Business Development Executives are tasked with representing the entire company – our name, brand and technical expertise. Typically with quick thinking, personable and credible personalities, they dig deep into the business assurance sector in order to identify new markets and customer opportunities and anticipate where in the current market they will arise.


Our sales teams never settle for delivering targets when they can be exceeded, and we have global reach. If you share this attitude and can demonstrate a deep understanding of the ‘global customer’ - our territories can include up to 10 countries – then we have the scope to ensure you can reach your goals.


You will:


  • Effectively interface with new and existing customers in order to identify and generate new and profitable business for LR to meet its growth strategies and targets, and by using digital and direct customer contact communication channels including the telephone, email and web based functions to retain and grow LRQA business.
  • Identify and build excellent client relationships through proactive communication and action to fulfil client expectations and meet personal periods sales target 
  • Responsible for identifying and issuing quotations and make appropriate follow up in line with personal, local and regional sales strategy and targets and adhering to Management Systems’ agreed contractual conditions and processes.
  • Build and maintain good client relationships through proactive communication and action to ensure the retention of existing (nominated) customers within specified target to meet local and regional sales and operations growth targets
  • Qualify and respond to all leads and opportunities for new and existing clients provided from the sales administration team, consultants, trade associations and current LR workforce in line with timescales and processes
  • Responsible for the identification and direct sales of Management Systems services including Client Training Services, Tier 2 and 3 targets to assist in the delivery and development of SASC Sales strategic growth targets and objectives.
  • Provide regular documentation, KPI’s and data to assist with the forecasting and reporting of Sales and Management Systems performance against targets to support in the initiation and delivery of appropriate actions
  • Provide information, feedback and sales support to assist with the efficient and effective coordination of Sales across all departments to ensure own and others’ compliance to policies and processes



You will need:


  • Degree or professional qualification is desirable.  Experience in identifying and generating new leads, sales and client relationships
  • Consultative selling skills, engaging and negotiating with prospective clients, experienced in pricing, margin and pipeline management
  • Understand the concept of Management systems and how they are applied in organisations. Understand link to certification / verification and associated training needs analysis is preferred
  • Experienced in the identification and delivery of sales days to meet targets and assist in the formulation of strategies
  • Knowledge of standard IT programmes and use of databases is essential with experience of systems used and applied within Lloyd’s Register with relevance to sales preferred
  • Experienced in identifying and converting sales leads and quotations into sales in line with local and global strategies, timescales, budgets and procedures
  • Experience in managing data, spread sheets and production and analysis of KPI’s, reports and data to assist with forecasting and performance against targets, sharing of best practice and ensuring compliance with processes and systems
  • An assertive approach to problem solving with strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide, negotiate, influence and persuade at all levels
  • Mentoring of direct and indirect team members in areas including business development, sales processes and customer identification and retention
  • Experienced in working proactively with other areas of the operation including marketing to work toward the common growth strategies and targets.
